Spring Training Day Wrap-up (2/22/10) Today was a very busy day at the Yankees Spring Training facility.  CC Sabathia threw his first sliders of 2010, AJ Burnett had a 30 pitch throwing session with Jorge Posada, the Yankees signed a veteran right hander (Chan Ho Park), and to cap it all off, young catching prospect, Jesus Montero, hit a towering home run off the center field score board as part of his offensive show.  Here is a rundown of all the major stories of the day:

(Smoov) Guess the Roster, Part Deux Not even two weeks have passed and I'm already revising my Opening Day roster predictions.  It isn't a major change to my initial prognostication, but the signing of Marcus Thames throws another wrench into the Yankees' potential plans come April 4. Thames will fight for the final bench spot with Rule 5 pick Jamie Hoffmann -- and I personally think his established RH power bat will win out in Spring Training, meaning Hoffmann would be headed back to the Dodgers because he would not be on the 25-man roster.

Chan Ho in the Park So the Yankees sign Chan Ho Park. That's nice.

Where did that come from? I live in Dubai, so baseball news gets to me a little late, but this caught me by surprise. I had no idea the Yankees were even interested in Chan Ho Park. Apparently Chan Ho made the announcement from South Korea that he chose the Yankees over the Cubs. *He's even farther away than I am!*

Johnny Damon Press Conference This will likely be one of the last times I write about Johnny Damon (well, scratch that, I'm working on an article about his and Scott Boras relationship after such a misrepresented offseason), but his press conference is taking place right now and he is officially a Detroit Tiger.  As you can see from the photo, Johnny hasn't grown out a full caveman beard yet, but I assume it's only a matter of time before he grows some type of facial hair as a continuing "f you" to the Yankees "no facial hair below the lip" policy.
